Your 3-Step Truemed Path to Reimbursement
We have streamlined the process for you. Truemed facilitates the medical eligibility assessment and the necessary documentation (Letter of Medical Necessity or LMN).
Complete the Health Assessment: Start by taking a private health survey through our Truemed partner page. A licensed provider will review your answers to determine your eligibility. If you qualify, you will receive an LMN within 1-2 days.
Make Your Purchase: Proceed to purchase your Spotted Dog Yoga & SUP membership or class pack as you normally would. Important: Do not pay with an HSA/FSA card during checkout. Use your standard credit or debit card.
Submit for Reimbursement: If you qualify, Truemed will provide a guide on how to submit your purchase receipt and LMN to your HSA/FSA administrator for reimbursement. Claims are typically paid out in 2–4 weeks.
What About Teacher Training or Retreats?
For high-value investments like our 200-Hour Teacher Training or an immersive Yoga Retreat, the general eligibility rules are stricter.
IRS guidelines may allow for the reimbursement of "Health Institute Fees" (which can include courses and retreats) if a participant has a diagnosed medical condition (like chronic stress, anxiety, or specific physical limitations) and receives an LMN explicitly prescribing the program's structure and curriculum as medical treatment.
