To the outside observer, it might look like a hot, sweaty room full of people flowing through a sequence. But to the Pack, it’s a toolkit for transformation. We use this methodology because it is specifically designed to produce results, grounded in the Three Source Principles of Baptiste Power Yoga: Physicalness, Possibility, and Empowerment.
1. Physicalness (Body): The Foundation
This is where it starts—on the mat. Physicalness is the vigorous, flowing practice (Asana) designed to build vitality and freedom. At Spotted Dog Yoga & SUP, we aren't interested in "performing" a pose. We’re interested in you showing up and engaging fully with the physical experience. The heat and the flow are there to help you access a sense of power that stays with you long after you leave the studio.
2. Possibility (Mind): Breaking Through
Through the physical work, we gain access to the mind. The principle of Possibility is about moving from "what is" to "what’s possible." When you’re in a challenging hold and you want to quit, that’s when you start asking the real questions. By gaining clarity on the mat, you discover the potential to break through limitations that have been holding you back in your relationships, your career, and your life.
3. Empowerment (Spirit): Taking the Leash
Empowerment is the outcome of the work. It’s what happens when you integrate the physical grit with mental clarity. It leads to a sense of personal power and an awakening of your spirit. At Spotted Dog Yoga & SUP, we define empowerment as the ability to create actual change in your life. It’s the moment you realize you have the authority to lead your life like only you can.
